WEST OLIVE, Mich. — A man is in custody following a tense standoff with deputies early Sunday morning in Port Sheldon Township.

Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Fellows Station after reports of a domestic disturbance. Authorities were informed that the man inside the residence might be armed with a firearm around 1:16 a.m.

Deputies attempted multiple times to make contact, but the man refused to come out or communicate. Due to the potential threat, the Critical Response Team was called to the scene.

Eventually, the team entered the home and safely took the man into custody without any injuries reported. He was transported to the Ottawa County Jail, where he now faces multiple charges.
