(Battle Creek, MI) – Ferrero Rocher is purchasing Battle Creek-based WK Kellogg Company for three-point-one-billion-dollars. The sale was announced Thursday morning, and Kellogg shareholders will receive 23-dollars a share. The sale includes Kellogg’s breakfast cereal line in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Ferrero Rocher says they will invest in and grow Kellogg’s iconic brands.
The sale is expected to officially close later this year.
Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) released the following statement regarding the announced acquisition of Battle Creek based WK Kellogg Co. by Ferrero, a third-generation family-owned business based in Italy.
“For generations, WK Kellogg Co. has been synonymous with Battle Creek,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “The company and community have worked hand-in-hand to make the Greater Battle Creek Area a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. I am optimistic that Ferrero will follow through on this commitment to the City of Battle Creek and I will continue to fight to make sure good-paying jobs stay and are created here in Southwest Michigan.”
