By Mary Ellen Murphy Jul 9, 2025 | 6:36 AM
(Ludington, MI)  —  The brother of the 27-year-old Ludington man who was shot and killed when he attacked U.S. Border Patrol agents in McAllen, Texas on Monday says Ryan Mosqueda started suffering from mental health issues a year ago.  Joe Mosqueda says Ryan had become obsessed with the news, believing everything he saw or read online, and says it’s disappointing this is how people will remember his brother.

He says the attack was “out of the blue” and added his brother refused to get help.  Their father was trying to find Ryan in the hours before the incident after the two of them had an argument.
