(Lansing, MI) – Health officials in Michigan are warning the Medicaid cuts signed into law by President Trump last week will have a huge impact on the state and the nation. Michigan Health and Hospital Association executive vice president Laura Appel says hospitals in the state will see over six billion dollars in reimbursement reductions over the next decade. Michigan League for Public Policy president Monique Stanton says Medicaid plays a significant role in mental health coverage and says with the new work requirements, there will be less dollars available in order to pay for those critical care for Michiganders.
Stanton says over two-and-a-half million people rely on Medicaid in the state.
