(Oceana County, MI) – The nine-year-old Livingston County boy who was rescued after being buried by five feet of sand on Friday at Silver Lake State Park has been released from the hospital. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says he was released Sunday and is recovering at home. He was buried for over five minutes when he was digging a hole in the sand dune near the pedestrian access and it collapsed on him.
The DNR says he had no pulse and had turned blue when he was freed from the sand and he started breathing again after 70 to 80 compressions were done.
