DHS Kristi Noem: U.S.-Canada Border Threat Growing

(Detroit, MI) – Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says members of international gangs are now trying to enter the U.S. through the Canadian border. Noem said Friday in Detroit that members of the Mara Salvatrucha known as MS-13 gang have been attempting to enter the U.S. from Canada in recent months. At a “Secure Our Northern Border” event hosted by conservative group America’s Future Noem said, “we are not letting our guard down at the northern border.”

Noem also called former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a “trainwreck” who wouldn’t cooperate with the U.S. in vetting those entering the U.S. from Canada.
