Spring Lake Transgender Man Concerned About Medical Coverage For Others

(Spring Lake, MI) – A transgender man from Spring Lake says what President Trump calls the “big beautiful bill” has him concerned about medical coverage for other people that are in the situation he was. Leo Frazier says he came out to his mom when he was a 14-year-old girl and says she eventually accepted him.

Frazier was covered by Medicaid to get top surgery to remove breast tissue and says the coverage made his gender-affirming care more affordable and saved his life.

Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program would be banned from covering the procedures for minors under the bill that has passed the U.S. House and is awaiting action in the Senate, and prohibits coverage as an essential health benefit under the Affordable Care Act.
