Coopersville, MI (WGHN) – A 92-year-old Caledonia man was injured in a rollover crash Monday evening around 6:20 p.m. in Coopersville, after failing to stop at a stop sign.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the elderly man was traveling northbound on 48th Avenue when he failed to yield at the stop sign and collided with a westbound white Jeep Liberty driven by an 18-year-old Coopersville woman, who had the right of way on Cleveland Street.

The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and come to rest in a field at the southwest corner of the intersection. The 92-year-old man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, had to be extricated from his vehicle by firefighters.

Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
