(Undated) — Funk-rock pioneer Sly Stone is dead at the age of 82. In a statement, his family said Stone passed away peacefully surrounded by his children after a long battle with COPD. Stone fronted the group Sly and the Family Stone, who had hits like “Family Affair” and “Everyday People.”
The statement said while they mourn his abesence, they take solace in knowing his musical legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come.
