Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) -In West Olive, tensions ran high Wednesday as the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners spent four hours in and out of recess before voting 7 to 4 to move forward with five candidates for county administrator. The candidates were chosen based on recommendations from consultants at Double Haul Solutions. Their names are being kept confidential until they respond to the county’s interview offer.
Ottawa Impact’s four commissioners pushed for more time to review the 39 applications. They requested to adjourn the meeting and review candidates in an open, public process, arguing for transparency and community input.
