Holland, MI –During the June 2, 2025, OAISD Election Meeting, delegates from 10 of the 11 public school district boards of education voted for candidates vying for two full-term seats and one partial-term on the Ottawa Area ISD Board of Education.
Incumbent Zeeland resident Rick Dernberger was re-elected for one of the two full terms that expire June 30, 2031. Jenison resident Jennifer Cymbola was elected for the other full term. John Siemion from Grand Haven was elected for the partial term expiring June 30, 2027.
OAISD Board President Randy Schipper said, “The new board members bring a wealth of experience, passion, and strong commitment to education that will contribute to our educational community’s continued growth and success.”
Amanda Price from West Ottawa also ran for a full-term position.
and John Siemion received votes from all 10 representing local district boards of education. Seven local districts voted for Jennifer Cymbola, and three districts voted for Amanda Price.
OAISD Superintendent Dr. Kyle Mayer added, “On behalf of Ottawa Area ISD, we extend our congratulations to Rick Dernberger, Jennifer Cymbola, and John Siemion on their upcoming service as board members and look forward to their invaluable contributions and the positive impact they will make in their respective roles.”
