(Allegan, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer declares a state of emergency for Allegan County as a result of the May 15th storms that produced two tornadoes in the county. The move allows the county to obtain state resources for response and recovery costs. Two EF-1 tornadoes hit Allegan County among eleven that hit the state that night.

Homes, trees, and utility lines were damaged and the county’s emergency management agency says their preliminary damage assessment is around two-point-two million dollars.
