Holland Twp., MI (WGHN) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious domestic violence case involving stalking, armed assaults, and fleeing police. Authorities say the suspect, 32-year-old Christian Montijo, began harassing a woman in December of 2024. The harassment stopped briefly when Montijo moved out of state, but detectives say he returned in May — leading to renewed assaults in Holland Township.
On May 29th, the victim discovered Montijo hiding in the back seat of her vehicle as she was leaving for work. He fled the scene after damaging her car.
Later that same day, detectives — with help from Michigan State Police — tracked Montijo to South Haven, where he was arrested by the Emergency Support Team.
Montijo was arraigned today in 58th District Court on multiple charges, including assault with intent to cause great bodily harm, two counts of felonious assault, domestic violence, fleeing and eluding, felony firearm, and reckless driving. His bond is set at $150,000 cash or surety.
