(Flint, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer wants a semiconductor chip assembly plant in Michigan by the end of 2026. She said in Flint that she wants people to “work together” to make it happen but did not explain what she meant by that. Whitmer also did not say which company they are hoping will put the fabrication facility in the state or what investment the state would need to make.
She called it a “transformational, once-in-a-century investment” that would change the destiny of an entire region of the state.
