(Washington, DC) – President Trump’s “big beautiful bill” has passed the House. Lawmakers approved the massive spending plan this morning in a 215-214 vote. All Democrats and two Republicans voted against the bill. The bill, if it becomes law, would make big cuts to Medicaid with an estimated seven-point-six million Americans losing health insurance over the next ten years. It would also add new requirements to food assistance, eliminate taxes on tips, while putting billions toward fighting illegal immigration and a nationwide missile defense system. It would make tax cuts on the nation’s highest earners permanent and eliminate Biden-era green energy tax credits.

The bill now goes to the Senate, where lawmakers have already promised to make changes.
