South Haven City Council Approves Hiring Program Manager For Lifeguards

(South Haven, MI) – The South Haven City Council approves the hire of a project manager to oversee starting its lifeguard program. The city wants to have it running by Memorial Day 2026 on both North and South beach. South Haven has not had lifeguards on the Lake Michigan beaches for several decades.

The United States Lifesaving Association told the council earlier this year the program would cost around 234 thousand dollars a year. Grand Haven State Park uses the Swim Smart system that was unveiled last June.
