(Grand Rapids, MI) – The National Weather Service is confirming a seventh tornado touched down in West Michigan last Thursday. The NWS says tornadoes touched down in the Battle Creek area and is Allegan, Kent and Ottawa counties. The strongest storms hit Allegan County, with both tornadoes in the county being classified as EF-1’s. In total, eleven tornadoes have been confirmed statewide.
More than 189-thousand Consumers Energy customers lost power in the storms.
