(Lansing, MI) – The State Officers Compensation Commission is calling for lawmakers to pass a bill that would raise salaries for the House, Senate, Supreme Court, governor, secretary of state, and attorney general by 25-percent. SOCC chair Tom Cochran added even with the unanimous vote by the commission, the pay raise is highly unlikely “because of the current political environment.” State House Speaker Matt Hall added flatly that they will not approve raising their pay.
