(Munising, MI) – The Munising Falls Trail is closed at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore after a 75-foot section of it was washed out Monday evening. The National Parks Service says there is no safe access point to view Munising Falls and travel in the area “is strictly prohibited to protect both visitor safety and sensitive natural resources.” The trail is popular at Pictured Rocks and is a short, 800-foot paved path to the 50-foot waterfall.
Officials have not given an estimate to when it might reopen.
