(Grand River, MI) – One-hundred and 50-thousand salmon are finding a new home in the Grand River. Officials at the natural resources department say the stocking program is important to the local community because many charter boats and other activities rely on the vitality of fish. The fish are placed in net pens for a few weeks before being released into Lake Michigan.
The fish also help manage invasive species.
