(Lansing, MI) – Michigan congresswoman Haley Stevens is launching a U.S. Senate bid. The Democrat announced her candidacy in a video on Tuesday with a focus on the auto industry.
Stevens went after tariffs set in place by the Trump administration and she said the duties are putting Michigan jobs at risk. She’s the third Democrat to enter the 2026 race to take over for a retiring Gary Peters. The seat will be a major focus across the country as the Republican party aims to grow its majority as former GOP congressman Mike Rogers is vying for the seat as well.
