Grand River Rises In Grand Rapids To “Action” Stage

(Grand Rapids, MI) – The Grand River has risen to the “action” stage, meaning it is just below a level for minor flooding. The water gauge near the Grand Rapids Public Museum shows the river is discharging at 13-thousand-100 cubic feet per second, which is faster than normal. The area has also received about five-inches of rain in the past week, adding to the swelling river.

The most recent major flooding on the Grand River was May 21, 2020.
