OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. – Three people were injured when a car crashed into a tree in Tallmadge Township early Saturday morning. Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to an iPhone crash notification from the area of Leonard Street and Mill Street at 1:40 a.m.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle that had crashed into a tree. An investigation at the scene showed a Ford Fusion was headed westbound on Leonard Street when it ran off the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver, a 37-year-old Marne man, was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The passengers, a 21-year-old Walker woman and a 24-year-old Grand Rapids man, both had minor injuries and were taken by a private party to the hospital for treatment.
Deputies said the woman wasn’t wearing her seatbelt when the crash happened.
