Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Grand Haven’s south side could be home to a new housing development. The “Dake” property at 700 and 724 Robbins Road is being considered for a 189-unit housing development.
The Grand Haven Tribune reports that South Village will offer a mix of row-houses, townhomes, traditional condominiums, and attached single-family homes on 23.3 acres of industrial brownfield land.
Some of the units could be designated as affordable housing units which could make the project eligible for brownfield grant dollars.
IMD Capital is the firm handling the project and in their a preliminary development plan to the city they requested to rezone the property from transitional industrial to planned development.
A public hearing to approve the preliminary plan could take place at the planning commission’s next meeting April 15. If approved, the plan would next go to Grand Haven City Council.
