(Kentwood, MI) – Feeding America West Michigan officials say they have learned the U.S. Department of Agriculture has paused several truckloads of fresh food for them. President and CEO Ken Estelle says the pause affects 32 truckloads of food that they were expecting to receive between April and July. Estelle says they are working to replace nearly 600-thousand pounds of meat, cheese, and milk.

The USDA has reinstated a grant that allows Feeding America West Michigan to purchase from Michigan farms that had been suspended.
