Gavin Love of Grand Haven Township
(Holland Township, MI) – Twenty-five-year-old Gavin Love of Grand Haven Township is in the Ottawa County Jail on a felony charge of malicious destruction of property for causing thousands of dollars in damage at a Holland Township Walmart on Friday. Captain Jake Sparks of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says it was a chaotic situation.
Love destroyed six televisions and 17 glass doors around 6:30 p.m. His family says he had been out of jail for just a few days and was staying at a homeless shelter. Love has prior convictions for domestic assault, car theft, and resisting police.
His family says that Love had just gotten out of jail and was living in a homeless shelter. They believe he has an undiagnosed mental disorder.
No one was hurt in the incident.
