(Washington, DC) – Grand Valley State University and the University of Michigan are on the list of more than 50 institutions facing federal investigation for alleged racial discrimination. It is part of President Trump’s anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI, efforts. Trump has said he believes DEI excludes white and Asian-American students and does not believe the programs are fair.

Michigan is being investigated “for allegedly engaging in race-exclusionary practices in their graduation programs,” while GVSU is targeted “for alleged impermissible race-based scholarships and race-based segregation.”
