(Lansing, MI) – The Michigan House of Representatives has passed a Senate bill to protect the state’s tipped wage credit and increase minimum wage to nearly 15-dollars an hour by February 2028. The House, however, tie-barred the bill to legislation it passed earlier on paid sick leave changes. That bill still needs to pass the Senate to prevent the tipped wage credit from starting to be eliminated by law tomorrow.
Negotiations are underway in the upper chamber.
