Ravenna teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety says a former Ravenna High School special education teacher has been arrested and charged for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Ravenna Schools says said Paul Masko was placed on administrative leave after law enforcement contacted school officials and stated they were that they were investigating him on Jan. 31. Police said warrants were authorized for possession of child sexual abuse material and using a computer to commit a crime.

On February 7, Masko was arrested and is currently lodged at the Ottawa County Fillmore Street Complex. He also resigned from his position with the schools on the same day.

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 7, the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety shared an update, saying a person had been formally charged with two counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and two counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. Bond was set at $500,000 and Masko has an arraignment on Feb. 13.

The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety teamed up with with Ravenna Public Schools and the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department during this ongoing investigation. Tv 13 on your side reports that a spokesperson for Grand Haven Area Public Schools said Masko hasn’t worked in GHAPS since 2016. Prior to 2016, he was a baseball and softball coach. The district didn’t find any reports of misconduct during his time there.
