(Holland, MI) – A police officer is recovering after being injured while making an arrest in Holland Thursday morning. The Holland Department of Public Safety says the incident happened when a pair of officers found a man who was wanted on several warrants sleeping on the steps of the Herrick District Library. While trying to take the 30-year-old man into custody, the man became combative and an officer suffered a shoulder injury. The officer was taken to the hospital and has since been released.
The man was taken into custody for his outstanding warrants and on new charges including resisting and obstructing an officer causing injuring.
