(Lansing, MI) – There’s a new bird flu outbreak in Ottawa County. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development yesterday confirmed a case of the flu at a commercial poultry farm. The state is not saying just how many birds are infected, but all of the birds will be destroyed. Ottawa County is now the 13th county in the state to see a case of the bird flu. The MDARD says Ottawa County also saw a bird flu case reported in cows. No people have gotten sick yet.
The state says it is keeping a close eye on the flu, and looking to stop its spread as quickly as it can.
