(Muskegon, MI) – Parking at the Pere Marquette Beach in Muskegon will go up to 15-dollars on weekends starting immediately for people who don’t live in the city. The city will keep the parking fee at ten-dollars on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and parking on Wednesday will remain free. Officials say the parking fees will cover the cost of beach maintenance and allow for more programming and amenities to be introduced, but people are not happy about it.

A Norton Shores woman thinks Muskegon County residents should get a “very deep discount.” A season parking pass costs 40-dollars.
