Outgoing Ottawa County Commissioner Says Officials Need To Listen To Everyone

By Mary Ellen Murphy Nov 20, 2024 | 6:08 AM

(Grand Haven, MI) – Outgoing Ottawa County commissioner Rebekah Curran has advice for those who are taking office in January, and that is everyone’s voice is important. Curran is a Republican who chose not to seek reelection as she tried unsuccessfully to run for the U.S. Senate in Michigan this year. She says everyone matters regardless of what their political beliefs are and says the right-wing Ottawa Impact commissioners were too aggressive in their approach initially, but says co-founder and board chairman Joe Moss has been trying to listen more often.

Ottawa Impact lost their majority on the board but Republicans still outnumber Democrats on the commission, ten to one.
