(Kalamazoo, MI) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama stepped back into the political spotlight Saturday night as she campaigned in Kalamazoo with Vice President Kamala Harris. Obama was making her first appearance other than at the Democratic National Convention and urged the crowd at a standing-room only Wings Event Center to “do something” to get Harris elected President. The Vice President spoke about her desires to continue helping middle-class families and senior citizens and also asked how many people in attendance were voting for the first time.
Harris’ visit was the first by a Democratic or Republican presidential nominee to Kalamazoo County since then-Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton campaigned in Comstock Township in 1992.
