(Undated) – New guidelines about strokes recommend doctors use Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with diabetes and high risk of heart disease. The recommendations, put out by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, come after a study last year found the drug Wegovy could reduce the risk of stroke in some overweight patients by up to 20 percent.
The FDA approved Wegovy this year for reducing the risk of strokes and heart attacks.
