Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Ottawa County Democratic Party says two large Harris for President signs placed in Grand Haven on 7th Avenue were stolen. The signs placed them in front of a Trump booth selling merchandise at Lemon Creek Winery building with permission and a permit.

Kim Nagy is Vice Chair of the Ottawa County Democratic Party and says they not be intimidated by thieves and vandals.

“The cost of the signs was $500.00. It is unfortunate that supporters of Candidate Trump feel they may violate our First Amendment rights along with property rights. Political speech is foundational to our democracy and democratic processes, those who steal signs violate rights. Given candidate Trump is refusing to debate Vice President Harris, it appears supporters feel moved to shut down all political speech.”

A police report has been filed. The signs have been replaced.
