(Spring Lake, MI) –A young man is in custody after a police chase that began outside the Grand Haven YMCA on Tuesday evening just before 5:00 p.m. TV 13 on your side reports that the suspect shouted he was in a stolen car and flashed a pistol outside the Grand Haven YMCA according to Ottawa County Dispatch.
The vehicle has front-end damage and matched the description of a car involved in a hit-and-run just an hour earlier near Robbins Road and Lake Shore Drive in Grand Haven Township. Deputies spotted the suspect, driving a stolen car with front-end damage, near US-31 and Jackson Street and pursued northbound on US-31. The chase ended near East Savidge Street and Lake Avenue, where police cornered the vehicle. The driver, now facing several felony charges, was taken to the Ottawa County Youth Home.
No injuries were reported, and East Savidge Street has since reopened.
