(Georgetown Twp., MI) – The toxic plant Poison Hemlock has been confirmed in Maplewood Park in Georgetown Township. Contact with the plant’s sap can cause blisters but all parts of the plant are toxic and even deadly if ingested. Officials say some of the plants have been removed but large patches will require mechanical removal.
There is some signage alerting to the plant but people need to be cautious as some of the hemlock grows near pedestrian paths.
