Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – All Grand Haven Board of Light and Power (BLP) crews are dispatched to the field assessing storm damage and working to restore power to approximately 3,000 customers.
Customers can monitor the effects of severe weather on the electrical system by visiting the “Outage Center” at www.ghblp.org to either view the Outage Map for estimated restoration times or to report an outage. Please report outages online, if possible, to leave phone lines open for emergencies which can be reported at (616) 846-6250.
For your safety, the BLP would like to remined everyone to:
- Stay at least 25 feet from downed power lines and report them by dialing the number above.
- Be mindful of power lines hidden by storm debris and treat all downed power lines as energized.
- Treat intersections with traffic signals that are without power as 4-way stops.
- Follow manufacturer’s safety instructions if you use a portable generator.
