(Lansing, MI) – Former Congressman Peter Meijer of Kent County is joining the race for Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat. Meijer served one term in the U.S. House before losing in the Republican primary to Ottawa County Administrator John Gibbs. He says he is confident he can win the seat being vacated with the retirement of Democratic U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.
Meijer was one of ten Republicans in the U.S. House to vote to impeach President Donald Trump.
