Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – A 49-year-old skydiver from Twin Lake suffered a leg injury after a skydiving accident in Grand Haven. On Sunday afternoon several residents saw what they described as two parachutes spiraling down toward the ground. Jeff Hawke, director of Grand Haven’s Department of Public Safety says the man landed on the roof of a building at 1811 Hayes St., just south of the airport.
The Grand Haven tribune reports that malfunction with the initial parachute had him deploying his emergency parachutes in the wrong order.
Haley Gwinn, dropzone manager at Skydive Grand Haven says the man in an experienced jumper. He was treated for his injuries on the roof of the building and later lowered to the ground with a ladder truck, and transported to the hospital by Trinity Grand Haven.
