(Allendale, MI) – Some students a Grand Valley State University are scrambling to find housing due to a lack of space on campus for them. Freshmen students are required to live on campus, creating an issue for upper class students and this year will have one of the largest incoming classes. Kimberly Kerstin’s son is a junior at GVSU and is among many upperclassmen who have not received an answer yet.
“He registered a bit on the late side but he also had done that after his Freshman year. He registered like early Spring/late Winter and we thought that everything was fine. As things evolved more, he honestly was never actually even given an email that said specifically he needed housing. It just kept stating there were no guarantee.”
The university says they are partnering with off-campus apartment providers for housing and say every student who requested housing will get that.
