Poll Finds Voters Blame Both Republicans, Democrats For Late Budget

(Lansing, MI) – A new poll commissioned by Progress Michigan finds voters in the state are blaming both Republicans and Democrats for not passing a fiscal year budget by the July 1 deadline. Thirty-six-percent blame both parties, with 26-percent blaming the GOP and 25-percent blaming Democrats. Republicans have the majority in the state House, and Democrats have the edge in the state Senate.

The July 1 deadline is set by law, but there are no penalties if it is missed.
