(Detroit, MI) – A ribbon cutting ceremony for the Gordie Howe International Bridge will take place Friday, according to reports from the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News. It is not known if Governor Gretchen Whitmer or former Governor Rick Snyder will be among the attendees. The new bridge will open to traffic on Monday. Whitmer and President Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles discussed the bridge opening yesterday.
Trump had been threatening to prevent the span from opening without Canada making concessions.
