OTTAWA COUNTY, MI (WGHN) – A 50-year-old Byron Center man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when two trucks collided at a Hudsonville-area intersection, sending both vehicles into a house. The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at 40th Avenue and Riley Street.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies said a Chevrolet Avalanche heading north on 40th Avenue failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a Chevrolet pickup pulling a utility trailer eastbound on Riley Street, which has the right-of-way. The impact pushed both trucks off the road and into a nearby house, which sustained only minor damage.
The Avalanche driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. The other driver, a 43-year-old Jenison man, suffered minor injuries.
