Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – GH City Council meets tonight. A special meeting at 6:30 p.m. where Grand Haven Public Schools Superintendent Kristen Perkowski will give a presentation on the 2025 Master Plan.
At 7:30 the regular meeting will begin.
On the agenda several events asking for approval:
A 5 Alarm Chili Cook Off from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on October 11, 2025 at the Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium.
Bluebird Cancer Retreats to use Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium for the Community Cares Cancer Walk from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on October 4, 2025.

Council will revisit the proposed plan to renovate the long-vacant Grand Haven Jewelry Building located at 224 Washington Avenue . The developer hopes to transform the downtown site—empty for five years—into seven residential units using a mix of state grants, bank loans, and cash. They are also seeking two state incentives:
A 12-year property tax exemption.
Rent reimbursement for below-market-rate units.
Consideration by City Council of a resolution to approve McKenna as the consultant to prepare the Centertown Vision Plan update, with costs not to exceed the budgeted amount of $20,000, with seventy-five percent (75%) of the total cost covered through Redevelopment Ready Communities (RRC) Technical Assistance funds.
