(Lansing, MI) – The State Budget Office is going over contingency plans if state government shuts down October 1. The SBO is looking at several different scenarios if a deal on the Fiscal Year 2026 budget isn’t reached by then. Spokeswoman Lauren Leeds says they are hoping a deal is made and in place in the next two weeks.

They don’t, however, have the full scope to announce any plans yet.
